Founded in Nairobi in 2004 by a guide and a conservationist, African Wildlife Trails has spent two decades writing itineraries one at a time. We are intentionally small. We do not wholesale, we do not franchise, and we do not answer the phone with a script.

Each itinerary is built by a single consultant, signed off by a director, and shadowed by a guide who has driven the route. We hold reserved beds at 48 lodges and reserved seats on the bush carriers. When the migration shifts, we shift with it.
We are KATO and IATA bonded. Conservancy fees are baked into every booking. Flights are carbon-offset through ClimateCare. None of this is marketing.
Our guides average 17 years in the field. Our consultants live in Nairobi, Arusha, and Kigali. There is no call centre. When you write to us, a person who has stood beside an elephant on that route writes back.
